I was doing some online surfing and cames across a local Mississippi resident who also happens to be a well known and established porcelain artist, her name is Penny Sanford.
Penny is a porcelain sculptress who resides in Kilmichael, MS and her work is fabulous. She has been featured in The Winona Times several times over the years, and in 2001 even had a piece commissioned by Governor Barbour.
Her work is beautiful and her pieces lovely, i love that she specializes in what i call, “location based art”. She is highly influenced by the beauty of her hometown, and has created several porcelain sculptures based out of historic Mississippi places and or landmarks. Check out her work above, and if you are familiar with Penny or her Mississippi porcelain art, please chime in below, and leave a comment.
I look forward to your stories. I would love to feature local residents, places, and artists on the blog, and anything else you want to see or read about. Let me know.

I knew Penny several years ago & attended NSDAR 2002 with her. 27 Nov. of that year I had a ‘brain annie’…I walk now! Actually my big set back is short-term memory…but so MANY of my old memories I have back. That NSDAR was a BIG “Kick-Start” for me. Seriously. I now can even remember what Gordon looks like! I just read an article on Gladys Lisanby (misspelled) & I met her there!! I envy Penny & the “fur babies”….my dog literally saved my life. Also I hope one day I will get to visit Woody’s!! My net nic is: sILVER bELLE.

Hi, Marianne:
Thank you so much for stopping by the Woody’s site, and also for leaving a comment.
Recently Penny stopped over and had lunch at Woody’s, we were very happy to have her over. She stated she quite enjoyed her meal and time. (we hope, she did)
I’m glad you are feeling better now, too. Thanxs for sharing!
Missy.
